McElderry's open new premises in Co Down

2006 may be coming to an end but for John McElderry (M&T) Ltd it’s the start of a new era for the company with the opening of new premises at Drumalig Road, Carryduff.

“We are right beside Rockmount Golf Club,” confirms sales manager Stephen Moore.

“Our commitment to the new sales centre, which will operate in tandem with our existing headquarters in Ballymoney, follows on from our securing of the Fendt Tractor agency for Counties Down and Armagh plus East Tyrone. As most farmers and contractors know, we already hold the agency for Counties Antrim, Derry and Donegal.”  He added:

“This is a major opportunity for McElderry’s to expand its business base. We already have a strong reputation for providing an exemplary level of service to the farming and contracting sectors and we look forward to having the opportunity of demonstrating this commitment to customers in our new catchment area.”

The McElderry announcement coincides with the news that Fendt has modernised its 300, 400, 700, 800 and 900 series of tractors.

“Fendt has a strong reputation for manufacturing high quality tractors that are equally at home in the hands of farmers or contractors,” reports Stephen.

“And the new models now available certainly add to this tradition.”

The 300 Series

Fendt has launched a completely newly developed 300 Vario range with four models ranging from 95 to 125 HP – all of these tractors are equipped with the stepless Vario transmission. Fendt has now transferred its Vario technology – which can look back on years of successful operation in high horsepower tractors – to the compact four-cylinder class and makes the technical and economical advantages of the stepless drive available to this market segment for the first time.

The objective in the development of the 300 tractor range – along with universal applicability – was to increase productivity and working comfort with new innovative technology and to utilise powerful and extremely economical engines. All four 300 range tractors also have an exceptionally simple operating concept. They have a new appearance and the cab has been made more comfortable.

The 400 Series

Perfect all-round tractors for mixed and grassland farms – light, compact and manoeuvrable, equipped with the innovative Vario transmission and optionally available with the high-tech technology found in high horsepower tractors: that is what the five tractors in the newly launched Fendt 400 Vario model range have to offer. Driven by Deutz engines, the Fendt 415 Vario, the top model of the series, is currently the only four-cylinder tractor that has over 150 HP.

The Fendt 411 Vario has a maximum engine output of 115 HP according to ECE R 24, the Fendt 412 Vario has 125 HP. The Fendt 413 Vario has 135 HP and the 414 Vario 145 HP. The most powerful tractor in this new range, the Fendt 415 Vario supplies 155 HP and therefore tops the horsepower list of all four-cylinder tractors in the world.

The 800 Series

The efficiency and high technology of high horsepower tractors, combined with the manoeuvrability and visibility of tractors from the midsized class – that is what the two models from the new 800 model range from Fendt have to offer. The Fendt 818 Vario has a maximal power output of 185 hp according to ECE R 24, the Fendt 820 has 205 hp. Both of these compact high horsepower tractors are equipped with the basic features of Variotronic, have a good unladen weight and a small turning circle.

The success model Fendt 800 Vario – since it was introduced, the 818 has become the most sold compact high horsepower tractor in Europe – has now been developed further in a second generation. Using the latest engine technology, fuel consumption has been substantially decreased once more. The innovative, tried and tested tractor management system TMS and the headland management system Variotronic are equipped as standard, optionally available is the steering assist system Auto-Guide for precise pass-to-pass driving.

900 series

Based on a joint design study with Porsche, Fendt engineers have developed a completely new look for the 900 Vario range. Essential design elements are the waisted bonnet, newly designed lighting elements and a completely newly developed cab. The development objective was to pair technical functions with modern design, and for this Fendt, as the only agricultural equipment manufacturer, received the coveted "red dot: best of best" award for highest design quality at the renowned "red dot: product design 2006" competition in June in Essen/Germany. For the technical features, Fendt received the gold medal at the Agritechnica 2005.

The Fendt 922 has over 220 HP max. power output acc. to ECE R 24, the Fendt 924 has 240 HP and the Fendt 927 a total of 270 HP. The Fendt 930 has 300 HP, the Fendt 933 has 330 HP. The top model of the new 900 range, the Fendt 936, boasts a maximum of 360 HP and is currently one of the most powerful standard tractors in the world – and with a top speed of 60 km/h the fastest machine of this type.
