Welcome to Crop Watch update for week ending Saturday November 15. The continuing mild weather means the risk of aphid attack and the onset of Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV) remain very real. Crops already sprayed with the insecticideHallmark (active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin) at the rate of 50 mls per hectare should now receive a second application of 25mls per hectare. Those crops not already treated should be sprayed with Hallmark at the 50mls per hectare rate.
