Welcome to Crop Watch update for week ending Saturday July 31 2004. Changeable weather has put back wheat harvest date by possibly a week. However, excellent news on the winter barley front. The first reported yield for Colossus in NI is 10.1 tonnes
per ha ( 4.1 tonnes per acre ) at 17.5%. Specific weight is not yet available. The crop was cut earlier this week and this yield is particularly good as it comes from a field that has been continuous cereal for 25 years and is after wheat.
