Welcome to Crop Watch update
for week ending Saturday October 11. All September sown cereals should be sprayed with the insecticide Hallmark (active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin) in mid to late October to protect against Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV). If aphids can be found on the crop earlier than this then spray immediately. Further treatments may be necesary in high risk areas during mild winters!
